Ordered list of blogs will go here with a widget
What do you think of when it comes to trial by fire? For most people, it would be the act of trying something live. This just so happens to be no exception.
I've been working on revamping the personal site for a while. At least because I had hoped to have spent a lot more time keeping it up to date with the occasional blog posts or pushing personal projects. Funny thing is that I even had delusions of thinking that this website would become a real "home page" where you could go and have all of the information you could desire as a dashboard presented in a single location. Think early Yahoo or Alta Vista. Over the last year, this view has been changed into providing at least a frontend for spewing some strange thoughts on software engineering, but pushing updates out with raw HTML is also quite painful.
Thus we arrive here, a revamped site that is slightly different from what was, but still maintains the original idea of simplicity. While you could read the other hello world the synopsis is that I wanted to play around with Ruby, and wanted to create something where I could just drop stuff in a single location, and watch it automagically get published without having to run something like Wordpress, Joomla, or Jekyll. This site is the first cut, and while it doesn't quite have everything I'm looking for, its close enough for government work. Or to borrow a quote from the presentation community, "Screw it, we'll do it live."
Currently all new submissions will just result in the updating of this site. Once I feel comfortable with where things are at, then I'll begin posting new submissions to the social media sites. In addition, I'm tagging each post I make, but currently am not generating an index that would allow you to find related items let alone a full index page of all tags.
Of course, I would greatly appreciate any comments so please send them my way!
